Everyday I walk my dog and a Moleskine in my pocket.
Every day I walk through the woods or alongside the river and record what I see in my trusty Moleskine notebook. My favourite drawing medium is the Moleskine Accordian Sketchbook and Lamy Alstar fountain pen with Noodlers Ink.
After a year of recording what I see I find myself being surprised over and over again at the different things I see on the same walks at different times of the year. The smallest of ants can provide the deepest of joys when seen again after a snow filled winter. And a tree sparrow seen for the first time in a location not see before is such a surprise and delight!
Some of this work is finding its way into my interpretive outputs and interpretation panels. For instance I am working on the Land of Oak and Iron Landscape Partnership Wayfinding and interpretation and the observations and poetry have proven invaluable in assessing the solutions that are appropriate to the landscape setting.
