Testimonials

Everyone thinks that you have been very innovative in your response to the original brief. You have made us think about what we could do rather than reproduce our original thoughts and sell them back to us – if that makes sense?! We really think that this is your unique selling point, you genuinely put a lot of thought into how to meet the aims of the client and you make the client stop and think as well.

In this case, the creative process has resulted in some unique pieces of interpretation which although great, were not necessarily what we had originally envisaged. Most importantly we feel as though the end product is unique to Wren’s Nest and really does the site justice. We received and still are receiving some very positive comments about the installations. You have also already shown that are willing to provide ‘aftercare’ in terms of artwork, replacement discs and paints to help with maintenance.

The tight timescale obviously dominated everything to do with this project and to your great credit, you adhered to it rigidly.

Overall, we would all have no hesitation in recommending you for other work and I would like to work with you again on future projects should the opportunity arise.

In regards to feedback on what you gave us and how they fit the brief, I know I can’t be any happier. You took our ideas and the themes of the site and ran with them. They complement the site and the iron features in particular look like they’ve always been there. I’ve had lots of positive feedback from groups I’ve taken around, and that’s what we were aiming for! I know this site is challenging and it limited what we could do in places in regards to materials but what we ended up with was a really good suite of interpretation that hopefully will engage more people.

Thank you for all the work you put into this, and I hope you enjoyed working with us to!

I have now grant aided 3 interpretative projects which Steve Pardue has worked on in North Argyll.  These being interpretative panels and a visitor  ”inspiration” box for Isle of Luing, Interpretative Panels for Oban Bay and an Interpretative Management Plan and implementation of the plan for the  Oban to Fort William Cycleway. I understand he is also working with some of my colleagues in other parts of the country as well.

Steve’s work is innovative and his project management exemplary. Due to the community input  nature of the work in Argyll he often  trod a gentle line, coordinating different interest and aspirations with very attuned diplomatic skills. He is the most committed consultant I have ever worked with. He gets the job done on time, on budget and his costings are very accurate. His contacts within the industry  enable him to get the best and the latest materials.

Steve brings a very high degree of integrity to this work. If you employ him you are not employing someone who will simply implement the work, but you are employing someone who will bring their own ideas and approaches to the project.  I would encourage you to engage with this aspect of Steve’s service as I have it found it to greatly enhance the end product.

I can  highly recommend Differentia to you.

…. this iterative process took time and willing patience on everyone’s part, but especially on Steve’s part, as he related to some 12 different people and their own ideas. The role of the working group members was to ensure the accuracy of the text at each stage. Regular group meetings helped to sort out the different ideas, with Steve throughout it all making creative suggestions, producing sketches for consideration, until everyone was as satisfied as could be. Steve’s drawings and paintings were a major feature of the design of each panel which he masterminded. In cooperation with a local poet, several panels were enhanced by an appropriate poem, as well as each panel having a heading in both Gaelic and English.
He also produced several rubbing plaques to go with most panels as a children’s activity, as well as a metal panoramic view locator for the highest point on the island.

If you now have the impression that we were delighted with the way the project developed, you would be correct. We are very proud of the result, and grateful for Steve’s leadership in their design. He went on to oversee their manufacture and delivery, while working parties on the island built slate plinths to mount them on.

Throughout the whole process, Steve was responsive to the community input, went out to meet a range of residents as he explored the island, worked flexibly with the working group and was always a pleasure to be working with. The process of panel design is inevitably lengthy, with ideas changing and developing, but the time we spent was well worth while, as it ensured the quality of the final panels.

The Northumberland and Tyneside Bird Club is a long standing club for ornithologists with a track record of high quality publications.   Our annual report, Birds in Northumbria, is a significant publication for the club and is distributed to club members and the general public.
The Northumberland & Tyneside Bird Club is very grateful for the hard work put in by Steve Pardue over the past 2 years in relation to the production of 2 annual bird reports (each around 300 pages long & including many colour photographs, tables etc).

The joint-editors, Steve Holliday and Ian Fisher, both worked very closely and to tight deadlines with Steve. With such a specialist publication attention to detail is paramount, plus a very patient and understanding approach to often demanding & painstaking details is also a must – Steve demonstrated all these attributes and was a pleasure to work with. Through this work, Steve has developed a good understanding of the needs of birdwatchers and we can recommend his services in similar fields of work without hesitation.
